After coming off a bad summer drought and one of the longest winters on record, it was no surprise that at 7.5 years old Tiny’s antlers were not as impressive as his last set. Tiny was a mature monarch and number one on the hit list for me and my neighbor. After taking our yearly inventory and realizing our numbers were down on our 3 and 4 year olds, we figured the year may be good for our older bucks since it is common for bucks to become more visible during daylight hours after they reach 7.5 years of age. We had 2 bucks on the farm we knew were at least 7.5 so we figured our chances were pretty high at shooting one of these 2 deer.
